Susan G. Komen Colorado will be hosting its annual signature community fundraising event – the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk™ – this Sunday, September 29 at Auraria Campus. Those wishing to join in the fight against breast cancer may still register online at KomenColorado.org/Walk until midnight on Saturday, September 28 or on-site on Sunday morning starting at 6:30 a.m.
The MORE THAN PINK Walk brings together an empowered community of hope to raise funds for breast cancer treatment, patient advocacy and lifesaving research.
The family-friendly event (formerly known as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® debuting this year kicks off with an interactive opening ceremony that demonstrates through powerful storytelling how the fundraising efforts of every participant fuel lifesaving research, critical patient care, needed community programs and public policy advocacy. Additionally, walkers are able to experience the impact of their fundraising through the introduction of Komen’s organizational pillars and participate in special activities focused on research, care, community and action.
Following the opening ceremonies, participants walk together west on Auraria Parkway to Colfax Avenue, ending at Walnut and 11th Avenue, providing a perfect place for them to share their stories and connections to breast cancer and the event.
