Parker, CO - The nonprofit free food market, SECOR Cares, just selected a new Executive Director. Brie Dilley, the previous Director of Development, has been chosen to fill the Executive Director position.
SECOR Cares has served the community through food assistance since the 1990s. Southeast Christian Church saw a need in the community and started filling a closet with food but outgrew it shortly after. In 2006, SECOR (Southeast Community Outreach) became an official 501c3 organization operating in its own facility.
SECOR strives to help those in need and restore their dignity. They operate on a free-choice model, mirroring a small supermarket, allowing guests to choose what food they take home to suit their dietary restrictions. Over the years, the need has grown, and other programs were introduced like Food for Thought (food backpack school program), Community of Hope (financial coaching), and our Mobile Market (market on wheels).
Brie said she wants to continue making strides with the organization as her predecessor paved the way for improvements and potential growth. With a focus on taking the organization to new heights, Brie will continue to develop strong relationships with partner NGOs and community leaders to move the mission forward and end suburban poverty.
