When it opens for a new year Aug. 17, Cherry Hills Christian School (CHC) in Highlands Ranch will provide students in Preschool through Grade 8 expanded academic and athletic programs for in-person learning with continued commitment to health and safety.
CHC, founded nearly 40 years ago and now one of Colorado’s largest Christian schools, is not letting COVID-19 compromise its mission to deliver outstanding education and prepare students to live fully for God in a rapidly changing world. The school has developed a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to re-opening for on-campus and online learning that is rooted in a mindset of love over fear and potential kingdom impact over negative operational impact. The school’s plans for re-opening continue to prioritize student health and safety and are detailed on its website, www.cherryhillschristian.org.
They include:
- installation of upper-air, germ-and-virus-fighting UV-C lights in all Preschool-Grade 8 classrooms;
- new, small-group learning communities for focused instruction and physical distancing;
- full-time staff support from student counselors, nurses, a security officer and a facilities operations team.
CHC also is pleased to announce the expansion of students’ learning opportunities. The school will continue to offer all current academic and extra-curricular programs with significant enhancements. CHC is strengthening its athletics program with membership in a more competitive, middle-school league; expanding instruction in Spanish, fine arts and technology; and also introducing a new student-leadership program and course designed to help Grade 8 students develop leadership skills. When they return to school, all students also will benefit from greater integration of our Academic Services in their classrooms, a move aimed at providing more specialized and individual learning support.
In the digital realm, CHC is preparing to deliver one of metro Denver's most robust PK-Grade 8 remote-learning programs. Called CHC Connect, it will give students access to live classroom teaching, meetings and school activities. CHC is designed specifically to provide students continuous and seamless learning, regardless of whether they can be on campus.
CHC is enrolling for Preschool through Grade 8 and welcomes inquiries at chcinfo@chcc.org or (303) 791-5500.
