Arvada, CO 9/16/23 — 72nd Aspens, a local group chartered with the Outdoor Service Guides (OSG), is excited to announce an upcoming Open House scouting event dedicated to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. This event will take place on Saturday, September 23rd from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wyndham Park in Arvada, CO, where participants can experience outdoor adventure, scoutcraft challenges, and skill-building for youth and their parents.
This is the perfect opportunity for youth and their families to come together, learn new skills, and discover the benefits of joining our inclusive organization.
Highlights of the event include:
Obstacle Course: Test your agility and teamwork on our exciting obstacle course, designed to challenge and inspire participants of all ages.
Bushcraft Trail Signs: Learn the art of creating trail signs and markers, a vital skill for navigation in the wilderness.
Orienteering: Navigate through an orienteering course and hone your compass skills.
Knife Use: Master safe and effective knife handling techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors, including carving useful objects and batoning firewood.
Fire Starters: Make your own fire rope to ignite a flame in challenging outdoor conditions.
S'mores: Enjoy delicious s'mores while making new friends.
Our organization is a place where everyone can come together, share their skills and experiences, and feel valued and respected.
"OSG is the perfect scout group for my family," said AJ Brekus, group treasurer and Rover, whose daughter is an Otter scout. "We had been looking for a group that was inclusive, secular, and not too rigid. 72nd Aspens lets kids be kids and gives them opportunities to explore outside, work as a team with their peers, learn new skills and make new friends.”
Don't miss this chance to try scoutcraft and see the experiences and opportunities that 72nd Aspens and the Outdoor Service Guides have to offer to all youth.
