Learn the oldest language in Europe. Or die laughing as you tangle your tongue learning to pronounce Iaith y Nefoedd, the Language of Heaven. (Actually the pronunciation is not as hard as it looks, it is more phonetic than English.)
All levels of Welsh, beginning through advanced, will be taught by native speakers at Welsh Heritage Week. Classes are held from 8:00 to 10:30 am, Monday-Saturday, July 24 to 29th, in Marquez Hall at Colorado School of Mines, Golden.
Locals can sign up for one 6-day language course, or for a whole immersion in Welsh language, literature, dance, folk songs, hymn singing, folk band, and harp.
There will also be evening events - a staff concert and folk dance - and a Sunday morning Gymanfa Ganu or hymn sing in Welsh.
Folks will be coming to Colorado from across the US and Canada.
