Freedom Service Dogs in Englewood, the Jefferson County Boys & Girls Club, the South Platte Valley Humane Society in Lakewood, and other local organizations will benefit from hundreds of volunteers.
In Littleton, approximately 165 volunteers will walk dogs, clean kennels and landscape the grounds of the South Platte Valley Humane Society.

In Lakewood, approximately 65 volunteers will assist Build-a-Bike with Jefferson County Boys and Girls Club to help elementary school students build bicycles that the children will keep. Volunteers will also teach bike safely and do outdoor cleanup projects, including readying the community garden for spring planting. Volunteers will also work at The Action Center – Jefferson County in Lakewood.
In Englewood, approximately 200 volunteers will do renovations, cleanup and landscaping for Freedom Service Dogs of America, a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and training them for individual client needs. Clients include children, veterans and active duty military and others.
Volunteers will also work at the EPIC Book Drive and Project Management in Englewood.
These volunteer efforts are part of the 16th annual “Comcast Cares Day,” the largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the United States. It will bring together more than 100,000 Comcast employees, their families and friends nationwide to help make a difference in their communities. Approximately 6,000 Comcast employees and their families will do volunteer work at 55 schools or community organizations in Colorado.
