SINGERS Chamber Choir will perform “International Songbook” on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 9200 W 10th Ave. in Lakewood at 8:00 pm. For our final concert of the season, Norm Te Slaa and the Singers Chamber Choir perform songs from the United States, France, Germany, Poland and Russia. Included will be excerpts from Brahms' "Zigeunerlieder" (Gypsy Songs), selections from the chansons of Debussy and Ravel, Copland's rousing cowboy song, "Ching-a-Ring-Chaw", the classic Soviet folk song "Kalinka", Stephen Foster's "Beautiful Dreamer", and much more. The performance will begin at 8:00, and will run just under an hour. Doors open approximately 7:30. Free parking available across the street from the church. SINGERS is a choral ensemble that provides opportunities for singers to rehearse and perform fine choral music in an environment that educates, challenges and gratifies. SINGERS was founded in 1993, and is made up of performers throughout the Denver metro area. SINGERS has performed masterworks such as Rachmaninov’s “Vespers” and Bach’s “B Minor Mass” as well as concerts that have featured Poulenc’s motets, and the varied and beautiful pieces of Scandinavian and Russian choral music.
