Members of the Media Can Take the Test Everyone is Talking About… for Free!
DENVER, October 12 – Everyone seems to be talking about IQ, or Intelligence Quotient, tests. October is Membership Month for American Mensa, not only are the testing fees 50% off for anyone who wants to test, Denver Mensa is offering to let members of the local media test for free.
Encompassing most of Northwestern Colorado, Denver Mensa has over 760 members. The only prerequisite for membership, scoring in the top 2% in a monitored IQ test. With all the recent national attention on IQ, Denver Mensa wanted to offer members of the local media to not just take the test, but, to take the test from the American Mensa National Testing Officer. Denver Mensa is committed to being involved in our community. We have organized trash pickups and have an active group helping to navigate hurdles for gifted youth. This year we offered a special prize at the Regional Science Fair and we have many members active in the Mensa Foundation to provide scholarships for college students. Big things are happening soon for Denver Mensa as we are scheduled to host the American Mensa Committee meeting where the highest ranked volunteers in the organization gather to shape the future of Mensa and get to know their host town. Denver Mensa is also hosting one of American Mensa’s largest events in April, Mensa Mind Games, where Mensans come from all over the world to play and evaluate board games for 40 hours and pick which ones get the Mensa Select® seal.
Founded in 1965 as part of American Mensa, Denver Mensa is part of the largest and oldest high IQ society, Mensa International. Denver Mensa is a non-profit organization. Their work in the community, socialization with like minds, as well as other opportunities are a large part of why many become members.
