DENVER – September 2017 – Pat Linden and Steve Segal, two power business and transactional attorneys, have combined their firms to become Linden Segal, a boutique business law firm in Denver. The firm’s focus includes early stage and growth companies, venture capital and private equity, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
“Our goal is to disrupt the traditional law firm model and change the way clients generally think about their attorneys.” said Linden. “We’ve assembled a team of experienced and business-minded attorneys. We’ve worked for some of the best and biggest firms in the country and are able to handle the most challenging and complex deals—but we also keep the simple things simple.”
“Pat and I have an extensive understanding of all aspects of business law and transactions. We provide accessible, top-tier experience through a flexible, hands-on approach,” said Segal, one of Denver’s most experienced business attorneys. “Our boutique law firm model allows us to understand each client’s business and objectives to deliver exceptional, cost-effective results, no matter how big or small the project or client.”
Linden has represented companies or investors in hundreds of early stage and venture capital financings, and has served as lead counsel for M&A transactions ranging in value from hundreds of thousands of dollars to $700 million. He is also the go-to outside general counsel for many of his clients for complex contracts, partnerships, joint ventures, securities issuances and corporate governance. Linden spent 15 years with the Denver offices of large regional and national law firms before starting his own firm in 2015. He was a long-time board member on the Denver Sports Commission and has taught several MBA courses at the University of Denver.
Segal has handled hundreds of significant M&A, venture capital and private equity transactions and public offerings ranging in value from less than $250,000 to $750 million, with an aggregate transaction value approaching $5 billion. He regularly advises clients on entity formation, strategic alliances, technology transactions and other matters key to growing businesses. With more than 27 years of legal practice rooted in the Denver/Boulder community, Segal was a partner with leading law firms before launching his own firm in 2009. He served on the University of Colorado Law Alumni Board of Directors from 2003 to 2011, and has also served on boards for several charitable and professional organizations.
The Linden Segal team also includes Nicki Cerasoli and Patricia Myers, two highly experienced corporate and transactional attorneys. Before joining Linden Segal, Cerasoli’s practice focused heavily on M&A transactions at a small business law firm. Prior to that, she worked in the corporate and securities practice group of a downtown Denver law firm.
Myers brings more than 25 years of corporate and securities law experience. Before receiving her law degree, Myers was a senior paralegal at national law firms and public companies. Prior to joining Linden Segal, she worked in-house for medical device and life science companies.
“Pat and I have been friends for nearly fifteen years and we’ve also always followed and respected the other’s practice and clients. We’re thrilled to join forces and deliver on our shared vision of being Colorado’s best legal partner for entrepreneurs,” concluded Segal.
