In preparation for the installation of the pedestrian bridge and 81-foot structural leaf, the City of Lone Tree will be closing Lincoln Avenue, between Park Meadows Drive and Yosemite Street, from Friday, July 21 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 24 at 5 a.m.
All drivers will be detoured north on Yosemite Street and Park Meadows Drive during this closure. Click here to see detour map.
This signature pedestrian bridge crossing Lincoln Avenue, between I-25 and Yosemite Street, will help reduce vehicle congestion and provide a safer connection between popular destinations on both the north and south side of Lincoln Avenue for pedestrians and cyclists.
The features of this project include an 81-foot tall sculptural leaf support, a lighted walkway and ADA accessible ramps. The leaf structure, which was assembled off-site, will be lifted into place during this closure to allow for minimum disruption to the traveling public.
After the weekend closure this month, construction will continue to take place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with periodic night and weekend work. Motorists can expect various lane closures on eastbound and westbound Lincoln Avenue. In order to maintain the safety of the public, it will be necessary to close sidewalks adjacent to the construction for periods of time. There will be minimal disruption to traffic during peak travel times throughout construction, and access to all businesses will be maintained.
The City of Lone Tree would like to thank motorists for their patience during construction and remind drivers to slow down in the cone zone.
