The leading premier learn-to-swim franchise, Goldfish Swim School, opened its newest Colorado location this month. Goldfish Swim School – Centennial East, located at 6340 South Parker Road Suite 105, Aurora, CO 80016 in Arapahoe Crossings, provides swim lessons and water safety instruction to infants and children ages four months to 12 years.
Families can enroll children in a wide range of swim lesson and water safety instruction that utilizes a proprietary curriculum, The Science of SwimPlay®, which helps to build life skills both in and out of the water using play-based learning in a fun and safe environment. Goldfish Swim School – Centennial East offers flexible scheduling and free make-up lessons for busy families.
“We’re bringing the golden experience of Goldfish Swim School to families across Centennial,” said Mike Talaga, owner of Goldfish Swim School – Centennial East. “We’ve created a fun and welcoming place for kids to learn the life-saving skill of swimming. Our shiver-free, 90-degree water and tropical environment is always inviting, and our instructors challenge our students to reach their potential in the pool and beyond.”
Goldfish Swim School – Centennial East will implement Safer. Stronger. Together.™, the safety precautions and protocols developed to allow Goldfish Swim Schools across the country to provide the safest environment for families, guests and team members.
Additionally, Goldfish Swim School – Centennial East will promote a water safety campaign throughout May’s National Water Safety Month. The ‘Safer Swimmer Pledge’ campaign aims to bring greater awareness to water safety and drowning prevention. Throughout the month of May, families are encouraged to take the pledge and promote the importance of parent-child conversations around water safety. Those who take the pledge will be entered to win one year of free swim lessons at Goldfish Swim School. For each pledge, Goldfish Swim School will donate $1 to the USA Swimming Foundation, the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming, which supports swim lesson providers with resources, materials and grant funding to allow the opportunity for every child across the country to learn to swim.
Drowning remains the No. 1 cause of unintentional injury-related death among children ages 1 to 4, taking the lives of three children in the United States every day. Goldfish Swim School is committed to making a positive difference to help lower these staggering statistics. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children begin swim lessons at age 1 to decrease risk of childhood drowning.
“A recent study found that formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent among children ages 1 to 4,” Talaga said. “We’re eager to open our doors and teach children in our community how to be safer in and around the water.”
