Catholic Altar Servers Appreciation Event
Knights of Columbus Council 539 Denver hosted a social event honoring Denver area catholic parish altar servers on Sunday August 6th 2017. Grand Knight Marcus Gomez welcomed and recognized over 20 altar servers, thanking them for their service and presenting certificates of appreciation on behalf of the Knights of Columbus. The servers were also presented with a beautiful cross necklace, blessed by His Holiness, Pope Francis and arranged by Father Ronald W. Cattany, Pastor and Rector of Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
The ceremony was followed by an ice cream social. Recipients included those just beginning their service, as well as others who have served for many years, including a gentleman who has served for over 25 years, a true example of discipleship with Christ.
Holy Ghost Pastor, Father Chris Uhl OMV thanked the altar service for their faithful and devoted service, explaining that they play a critical role in helping create a solemn and reverent atmosphere for mass and providing parishioners with an enhanced religious and spiritual experience that they deeply appreciate.
The Knights of Columbus Council 539 Denver is honored to celebrate all who serve the Church as altar servers and deeply appreciate the part they play in the serving the Church.
