The Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) has received a $27,600 grant from Wells Fargo Advisors to help provide food for Fighting Hunger Feeding Hope, FBR’s main food distribution program in Colorado and Wyoming. The check was presented on January 24, by Marc Beshany, Managing Director – Market Manager of Wells Fargo Advisors Rocky Mountain Market to Kevin Seggelke, Food Bank of the Rockies President and CEO.
An initial grant of $8,000 from Wells Fargo Foundation’s Investing in our Communities initiative grew to $27,600 in recognition of the volunteer efforts and charitable contributions of Wells Fargo Advisors Rocky Mountain Market team members. “Because of the significant community contributions of our Rocky Mountain Market team, we were able to more than triple the Wells Fargo Foundation grant presented to the Food Bank of the Rockies,” said Marc Beshany, Managing Director – Market Manager of Wells Fargo Advisors Rocky Mountain Market.
“Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest charity that spans our business markets in Colorado and Wyoming, and our team contribution to the Food Bank allows us to make a bigger impact in the communities we serve,” added Beshany.
“One in seven Coloradans don’t know where their next meal will come from,” said Kevin Seggelke, President and CEO of Food Bank of the Rockies. “We’re honored to partner with corporations like Wells Fargo Advisors and are humbled by the generosity and support of the advisors choosing Food Bank of the Rockies to receive a gift that will provide over 110,000 meals for our neighbors in need. What a remarkable contribution during what remains to be difficult times for so many individuals and families.”
The food bank distributed more than 88,000 meals per day last year through their agency partners and direct service programs. About half of the food distributed through the food bank feeds children.
