Storage in Fort Collins
It seems like there’s new construction and more apartment complexes going up every week in Colorado. With the amount of companies and jobs on the rise, Colorado continues to see hundreds of thousands of new people in search of a better life. With the population boom, there is a lack of space. This means that finding storage becomes increasingly more difficult year after year. New Storage units that are being built in town are selling out before the completion of construction. With the high demand, how is one supposed to find affordable storage in Colorado?
Well there’s good news! There are two new types of storage along the Front Range that offer alternatives to traditional storage units.
STOW IT is peer to peer storage. What is peer to peer storage? It’s like Airbnb for storage. Homeowners, even renters, can become a host. They simply rent their extra space. Spaces like sheds, garages, and outdoor areas can start making money for the host. It’s almost always cheaper than traditional units and you get a great variety of selection. You rent spaces by the day, week, or month, but renters and hosts can really do whatever they want. The renters get cheap storage that is nearby and help support a neighbor. The host get to use their extra space as a new source of income. It’s a win-win for the community.
Portable Storage is another alternative to traditional units. With portable storage, containers are dropped off at your house. You’re then responsible for loading the containers. In a few hours or days, the containers are picked up and taken to a large warehouse where they are stored. This eliminates transportation, which is great. On the downside, it costs more than peer to peer but usually less than traditional storage. However, you must call to have your stuff delivered and may not have open access to your belongings.
With the growing population, STOW IT and portable storage will become much more popular for the Colorado area. Both are available right now to try.
