WHO: Denver Broncos Tight End Virgil Green, Everitt Middle School’s Fuel Up to Play 60 leadership team, Western Dairy Association
WHAT: Denver Bronco tight end Virgil Green will be stopping by Everitt Middle School in Wheat Ridge, Colo. to reward the students for making their school a healthier place through Fuel Up to Play 60. Everitt Middle School recorded the highest level of Fuel Up to Play 60 points in a district-wide Fuel Up to Play 60 contest this spring, involving the entire student body in making positive, healthy changes in their school. This achievement earned the celebration with Green, the Denver Bronco’s Fuel Up to Play 60 player representative.
Green will address the students and congratulate them on their hard work before joining them for fun activities to get them moving.
Fuel Up to Play 60 is a dairy-farmer created program started through the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The program empowers students to choose healthy eating options and participate in physical activity for 60 minutes a day. Fuel Up to Play 60 is the nation’s largest in-school wellness program and creates real transformational change in more than 73,000 schools. From breakfast in the classroom to ramping up recess, Fuel Up to Play 60 schools around the country are building student leadership and giving kids a chance at a healthy start in life. Fuel Up to Play 60 is implemented locally by Western Dairy Association and the Denver Broncos.
