AM91-KPOF Radio is hosting an Open House, and tours of the Big Red Castle along with people in period dress, and re-enactments of battles in 1776 by the Vision Heirs. It all happens, April 27th from 10a until 2p. Also in celebration of the 85th year of broadcasting, AM91 is adding a new program to its broadcast lineup. Beginning April 6th the “Gaither Homecoming Radio” program will be heard Saturdays at 6pm on AM91-KPOF.
AM91-KPOF makes its home in a building listed on the National Historic Registry. Affectionately known as, “THE BIG RED CASTLE” the radio station is located at 3455 West 83rd Avenue in Westminster, Colorado. To help celebrate, the Historical Society of Westminster will be on hand to help with tours and to greet the community. Members will wear period dress in honor of the occasion. Also on hand to help in the celebration, The Vision Heirs. The Vision Heirs, a living history presentation, will re-create a battle and the culture of 1776, on the AM91-KPOF radio station campus.
“The listening family and community served by AM91-KPOF Station, will receive another special gift celebrating the eighty five years of broadcasting”, said General Manager, Jack Pelon. “There will be an addition to programming to include, THE GAITHER HOMECOMING RADIO SHOW, the well known national Gospel music program with Bill Gaither, beginning Saturday, April, 6th at 6pm.”
