Arapahoe Community College will host the Milestones Project Exhibition from Aug. 14 - Sept. 11 at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts at ACC. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 4pm-7pm (light refreshments will be served).
In 1998, Littleton residents Dr. Richard and Michele "Shelli" Steckel began the Milestones Project, an endeavor comprised of taking, and exhibiting, thousands of photos of international children and adults to promote cultural tolerance. “Littleton: My International Home Sweet Home” - a Milestones Project initiative commissioned by ACC - is a portrait exhibit created to showcase the gifts of diversity in our community. The exhibit is a collaborative tribute to the friends, neighbors, merchants and students who have chosen to live, work and study in Littleton. Phase one (second floor) was installed at ACC in Nov. 2007, and phase two (first floor) debuted in March 2015. The Milestones Project has been honored by the United Nations, acknowledged by Time Magazine, and viewed by more than 124 million people in airports around the globe.
Admission is free and the exhibit is open to the public Monday - Friday from 12pm-5pm (open Tuesdays until 7pm; closed on weekends). The Colorado Gallery of the Arts is located on the first floor of the ACC Annex Building.
